Dear Daughter

(I wrote the following for baby Madison in my pregnancy journal the other night... please don't copy or take)

Dear Daughter,

I can't promise everything will go your way in life,
But I can promise God has a way and it is the best way.

I can't promise everyone will treat you kindly,
But I can promise God will bless you for being kind to others.

I can't promise you earthly riches & materials,
But I can promise God is storing up heavenly treasures for you.

I can't promise you a long life,
But I can promise God will you eternal life if you surrender all.

I can't promise you that your family will never upset you,
But I can promise God will help you to forgive.

I can't promise you that I will be the best parent,
But I can promise God is always teaching me.

I can't promise you that you won't have trials & tribulations,
But I can promise God will give you strength to persevere.

And lastly, I can't promise that you'll always hold onto Jesus,
But I can promise He will always hold onto you.

Love,
Mom

Feet & Ribs Don't Mix

This morning I woke up to a nice swift kick in the right side of my rib cage! And then another & another... and well pretty much now that Madison has discovered that she can stretch out and reach my rib cage with her legs she has decided to do it frequently! Ouch! I keep having to jab her with my hand to get her to change positions. Pregnancy is full of bittersweet joys!

Went today and applied for WIC, never imagined I would have the need to...but ya know times are tuff! I get free peanut butter, milk, eggs, etc so I guess that's good.

The gestational diabetes is still going okay. I occasionally get a high score that freaks me out but they say I'm doing okay.

Today "The Love Dare" came in the mail, I'm going to start tomorrow as Day 1.

Baby shower is Saturday and I'll be 30 weeks on Sunday...Can't believe I only have like 10 weeks left till my due date, how crazy! But it still feels like its going slow...

10 Prayers For Baby

I ordered this book on natural childbirth through a biblical perspective...it's called "The Christian Childbirth Handbook" by Jennifer Vanderlaan. So far its pretty awesome book with tons of helpful information in preparing for the birth of a baby. One of the things I was reading in it last night was about praying for the new baby even before it's arrival. (Which I have been doing since I found out I was pregnant) However this book has a page with specific prayers & scripture to pray for the child. Here they are, I figured I'd do one a day and keep repeating it till she's born!

10 Prayers for Baby

WISDOM

My mouth will speak words of wisdom; the utterance from my heart will give understanding. Psalm 49:3

Pray that child may learn & gain understanding easily.

COURAGE

Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." Joshua 1:9

Pray that child would be willing to do what is right even when it is hard.

SERVANT HEART

You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13

Pray that child will gladly meet the needs of those around her.

LOVE OF THE BIBLE

Blessed are they whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the LORD. Psalm 119

Pray that child has desire to learn more about God through the Word.

LEADERSHIP

Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12

Pray that child will help others stand firm in faith.

CONTENTMENT

But godliness with contentment is great gain. 1 Timothy 6:6

Pray child will be satisfied with that which is given to her.

JOY

You will make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand. Psalm 16:11

KINDNESS

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Galatians 5:22-23

SELF-CONTROL

Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8

Pray child will learn the strength to tell herself “no.”

PERSEVERANCE

Let us rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance. Romans 5:3

Pray child will continue trying even when it is difficult.
